At Fatima our Blessed Mother Mary told the visionary Saint Jacinta Marto: "More souls go to Hell because of the sins of the flesh than for any other reason."
In these days we are living in an extremely sexually permissive society. Temptations to sins of the flesh are everywhere - from billboards, art, advertising, newspapers, television, music and the internet to the way people dress. Even human law encourages sexual depravity and lust by its legalization of contraceptives, prostitution, homosexuality and same-sex 'marriage'. Now we are seeing the woodwork opened and sexual harassment issues coming out on prominent people. This seemed to have started after the conclusion of the centennial of Fatima.
The likes of abortion, pornography is perhaps the most pressing issue of our age. It is a big business that victimizes everyone including those who market and sell it. The internet especially makes it possible for pornography to enter every home with the potential of corrupting whole families, including children. It is degrading, ruins family relations and leads to everything from incest, adultery, prostitution and violence to human trafficking and murder. Many have thus fallen victim to the onslaught of this hedonism. In order to conquer these temptations and reach Heaven we must be constantly on guard to repel and overcome our tendencies toward lust.
The message of Fatima and the spiritual aspects will help combat these evils in our society. Fatima is a plan laid out to us by Our Lord and Our Lady. In order to change society we must start with ourselves first and then reach out to others and live the Message in our daily lives: Mass, Adoration, Rosary, Confession.
