As we reflect on the message of Fatima and overcome the controversial topic we can come to the nucleus of the message. Sister Lucia said that the most important part of the Fatima message was when the Angel appeared to the three children. It was in the Spring of 1916, the three little children of Fatima were on a hill known as the Cabeco and beneath a rock they saw a young man approaching them, he said: “Don’t be afraid. I am the Angel of Peace. Pray with me.” Then kneeling down, he bowed his head until his forehead touched the ground and he said the following words three times: “My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and Love You. I ask for Your pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope, and do not love You.” He then stood up straight and said, “ Pray thus; the Hearts of Jesus and Mary are attentive to the voice of your supplications”.
This is a message of faith, for faith is the essence of our Spiritual well-being. “I believe, I hope and I love You”. This is a verbal commitment to the faith that is instilled in us by the Holy Spirit if we are open to the grace to receive it. This is also a message of peace to trust in God and we will have peace in our hearts if we live His commandments.
The Hearts of Jesus and Mary are designs of mercy and these are not restricted for the moment with just the three shepherd children, this design of mercy is for all of us to obtain. In order to obtain the mercy for our sins we are to do penance and offer our prayers and sacrifices to God. Sacrifice and prayer coincide with one another. It is to prayer and sacrifices that the Hearts of Jesus and Mary are attentive too. We must unite our prayers and sacrifices to the sacrifice of Christ on the cross, the Redeemer of world for all of humanity. This is how we should live this year of mercy designated by Pope Francis.
The message of Fatima through God’s grace and mercy is a message of hope for all of us. In order to receive this gift we must live the message of Fatima. In living the message it is essential to pray the rosary everyday for peace, wear the brown scapular. Also, making a consecration the Blessed Mother and doing the First Saturday devotion.
