Company value “be beyond litmus”. This value highlights the activity of our employees in their communities, both inside and outside litmus, and includes a volunteer day off (vto) each year to volunteer for the organization of their choice. We are delighted that so many of our employees have decided to participate and use their vto day in october to support so many different organisations. Curious about these organizations and how the litmus team supported them? Read on to learn a little more about each charity. Database migration for creating experiments davina fournier, platform engineering team leader, based in alexandria, va on my vto day, I volunteered at building experiences , a local nonprofit organization in virginia that strives to improve the community by connecting people to the resources and company mailing list networks needed to seek the equity. They have helped many young people navigate their way through college, first jobs, financial decisions, and family life. I have served on their board and volunteered with them since they started over five years ago. At that time, I mentored young people studying technical disciplines and I recently had the joy of seeing one of these young people graduate and get their first job as ai had been aware of building experiences' need for a database migration for some time, but it was through my vto day that I was able to find the uninterrupted time needed to complete it. For my volunteer day, I migrated their paid database to a free solution. Now the funds that were spent on this system can go directly to their community projects. Boston area gleaners organizes volunteer trips to local farms to harvest high-quality fruits and vegetables that would otherwise go to waste. They distribute the nutritious products to agencies serving families facing food insecurity. On a cold, foggy saturday in january, my daughters and I arrived at the boston area gleaners space outside of boston to spend the morning sorting apples. Our team leader gave us clear instructions on selecting apples in perfect (or near perfect) condition to add to the bags. The bags would then be distributed the following week to food pantries and agencies in eastern massachusetts.
