FFA: 3- Step Approach or Families
(Welcome to Print or Copy for Family Use (Copyright FFA) 2025
Living the message of Fatima each day calls for a deep commitment to prayer, penance, and devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The following three-step approach—centered on the Daily Rosary, Wearing the Brown Scapular, and First Saturday Devotion—offers a clear and practical way to embody this message. Integrated within this is the C.A.R.E. program: Confession, Adoration, Rosary, and Eucharist, which sustains and strengthens one’s spiritual life.
Step 1: Daily Rosary
The Blessed Mother at Fatima asked that the Rosary be prayed every day for peace in the world and the conversion of sinners.
How to Live This Step:
-
Set aside a specific time each day to pray the Rosary—morning, evening, or during your commute.
-
Offer each decade for a particular intention: peace, family, the Church, and those in need.
-
Reflect on the mysteries as moments in the life of Christ and Mary, allowing them to shape your daily actions and attitudes.
Connection to C.A.R.E.:
The Rosary keeps the heart centered on Christ and His Mother, preparing the soul for deeper participation in the Eucharist and Adoration.
Step 2: Wearing the Brown Scapular
The Brown Scapular is an outward sign of belonging to Mary, a symbol of her protection, and a call to live in grace.
How to Live This Step:
-
Wear the Scapular daily as a sign of your consecration to Mary and your desire to imitate her virtues.
-
Renew your Marian commitment each morning with a brief prayer of consecration.
-
Let the Scapular remind you to live chastely, faithfully, and prayerfully in your vocation.
Connection to C.A.R.E.:
Wearing the Scapular expresses your constant “yes” to God, strengthened by Confession and nourished by the Eucharist.
Step 3: First Saturday Devotion
Our Lady requested the First Saturday Devotion as reparation to her Immaculate Heart. This devotion brings healing to the soul and grace to the world.
How to Live This Step:
-
On the first Saturday of each month, complete the following with the intention of reparation:
-
Confession: Within eight days before or after.
-
Holy Communion: Received in the state of grace.
-
Rosary: Pray five decades.
-
Fifteen-minute meditation: Reflect on one or more mysteries of the Rosary.
-
Connection to C.A.R.E.:
This devotion unites all four elements—Confession, Adoration, Rosary, and Eucharist—into a monthly renewal of grace and conversion.
