The day that Father Fox passed away I finished this January issue of the Immaculate Heart Messenger. The editorial was finished this same day and I came down and told Father that it is finished. The editorial I wrote that day is nowhere to be found. This is the second one for this issue and ironic in the sense that as I wrote this, Father Fox is no longer here on this earth. I often think of this life and his death on a daily basis. The walls of the Fatima Family Center echoes his presence among us. The many books that lie on the table bearing his name enables one to realize the great gift that he had of writing. Many of us were amazed at the work that Father Fox accomplished in his lifetime. The many hours at the typewriter and the hours that he labored in research to bring us the true Catholic faith. What a gift to us this good and holy priest.

Father Fox chose Padre Pio for the cover of this issue. In this issue we are continuing to focus on the year of the priest as requested by Pope Benedict XVI. This issue features the articles, "A Great Priest of the 20th Century: Padre Pio". Pope Benedict desire to inspire young people to the vocation of the priesthood. Father fox often stated that, "when the Eucharist is the center of Catholic family life, there will be many sons discerning whether jesus is calling them to the priesthood." As Catholics, we cannot have the Eucharist unless we have the priesthood.

I had the honor to care for Father Fox and to be able to be at Mass with him daily for two months. This enabled me to grow spiritually with Jesus in the Eucharist. To experience Father Fox's love for the priesthood and the Eucharist helped me grow into a deeper faith. The Eucharist should be the center of our lives. Our books, Eucharist: Heaven and Earth Unite, is in great demand and has become one of our bestsellers. I want to encourage our readers to purchase this book by Father Fox, to help deepen your understanding of the Eucharist. The article, "The Cause of a Holy Priest, Venerable Solanus Casey, Capuchin", was written by Father Fox. A wonderful example of a priest devoted to work and sacrifice for the poor. His love for the priesthood and the holy Eucharist sustained him. Hundreds of thousands of people claim he personally changed their lives. Also in this issue we have many pictures from Children's Day to honor Our Lady. Please read this article and try to promote this in your area. The National Children's Day Handbook is available at our order department for $3.00. It is a beautiful event to help children to grow in love and honor for Our Lady. On October 13th we held another successful Fatima evening in Alabama. Over 250 people joined in songs and a candlelight procession at the Fatima Family Center in Hanceville, AL. Father Fox was able to attend and direct the evening. He attributed his good health that night from the help of Our Lady. He said, "Our Lady always gets what she wants." It is exciting to see this evening grow each time. Please mark your calendars for the next Fatima evening in May of 2010 and also in October of 2010.

As I began my journey as the new editor of the Immaculate Heart Messenger, I want to encourage all of you to continue to support this magazine and the Fatima Family Apostolate. Father told me he prayed for at least ten years to find a successor who could continue his work after he is gone and he chose me. Yet, he realized the importance of our subscribers and friends; he offered his daily prayers for you, the subscribers of this magazine. We all are called to evangelize and to help our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. We all are called to proclaim the true faith and to bring back Catholics who have fallen away and to educate our Protestant friends. This Apostolate was founded in 1986 and has continued to help strengthen family life and promote the truth of the Fatima message. Our Lady was a catechist at Fatima. She gave us the angel and the Eucharist, the Rosary, the Holy Family and Brown Scapular. Yet also, she gave us herself. Our Lady is not just to be admired. She is to be imitated. She always said "yes" to Our Lord. Let us all say "yes" and help us in our work to grow this Apostolate.

I want to personally thank everyone for your prayers, emails and phone calls. In this time of such a great loss we understand the importance of love from family and friends. This Apostolate is family and we will continue on and evangelize and grow in our love for Jesus and His Mother.
