The Fatima Family Apostolate was founded in 1986 by a Roman Catholic Priest, Father Robert Joseph Fox. Father Fox was born in South Dakota and served as pastor at parishes in South Dakota up until his retirement in 2003. Father was very active in apostolates for youth and the early stages of the Blue Army. He led many youth to Fatima pilgrimages for 25 years. Many of these youth became religious brothers and sisters and priests. Father Fox continued with the day to day operations as Founder and President of the Fatima Family Apostolate until October of 2008. His health began to decline with the devastating news that he had bone cancer, congestive heart failure and prostate cancer. Throughout this time of suffering Father continued to write articles and pamphlets to help save souls.
Before Father’s death on November 26, 2009 he said, “Should I enter Heaven, I desire to spend my Heaven evangelizing on earth”. Father Fox wrote over 70 books, thousands of articles and many audio and video programs which many are available through this Apostolate.
Also, in a message received from Jesus through a messenger that Father believed is authentic on Father’s birthday, December 24, 2002,
A message from Jesus to Father Fox:
“Many angels and saints guard you and your Apostolate-So be at peace and know that nothing can destroy it. Be at peace for I am with you. So never, never be afraid. Continue to wipe away my mother’s tears-For how she weeps for those who have been led astray.
Your hands and voice are truly needed so be strong my son and know that I am with you. I am Jesus and I bless you on this special day."
In October of 2008, Father chose a close friend, convert and writer , John C. Preiss to become the President of the Fatima Family Apostolate. At this point, John decided to move the Apostolate to Hanceville, Alabama to be able to manage the day to day operations more closely. This also enabled the Apostolate to have a store-front for customers to come in and purchase books, CDs,DVDs etc. The move has been a great success for the Apostolate, and is currently in a 4,000 sq ft. facility with a conference room, showroom and storage. On the grounds of the Apostolate we have a Fatima Shrine, a pro-life shrine, 14ft Crucifix and the stations of the cross.
Also, before Father Fox’s death in November of 2009, John became the editor of the Immaculate Heart Messenger magazine. This is the quarterly magazine of the FFA.
