Hanceville, AL, August 13, 2012, FatherFox’s Fatima Family Apostolate is delighted to announce that Michael LaCorte has joined the Apostolate as Executive Director. President John Preiss stated, “Michael is exactly the right person at the right time as the Apostolate embarks on a renewed spiritual surge to help more families make God a greater part of their lives.”

Michael La Corte is the former Executive Director of the World Apostolate of Fatima, USA where during his eight years of strong visionary leadership, he reached millions with Our Lady’s message of hope. Michael was the consultant for the acclaimed movie, “FATIMA,” where he appeared alongside Father Fox. He also appears as a Fatima expert in many other documentaries including “Fatima’s Lost Prophecy,”
which has been broadcast over thirty times on the History channel nationally and internationally.

Michael was the creator and executive producer for the six hour EWTN live broadcast, “One World Praying,” on which he also appeared and asked people of all faiths to offer 100 million Prayers for Life and Peace. He was the executive producer for live EWTN broadcasts from the National Basilica in Washington, DC, including “Children of the Eucharist” and a High Mass celebrated by the Papal Nuncio.

On two occasions, Michael also appeared on EWTN’s internationally broadcast show “Sunday Night Live” with guest host Father Andrew Apostoli, CFR, and was a Fatima guest expert on over a hundred radio broadcasts. Additionally, he was a keynote speaker for many conferences and conducted an Our Lady of Fatima statue tour throughout the United States. Michael also helped people Learn, Live and Spread Our Lady’s message as an author of numerous articles and a frequent speaker to crowds of over 3,000 faithful.

With Father Andrew Apostoli, Michael led the first spiritual pilgrimage to an apparition site in Kazan, Russia. Additionally, he gathered the best Fatima experts in the world to hold the “Most Important Fatima Conference of Our Times” in Fatima, Portugal.

Miracle Associated with Sister Lucia

Sister Lucia, the third of the Little Shepherds of Fatima, who lived until the 13th of February of 2005 as a Carmelite Nun in Coimbra, Portugal, and who wrote the famous MEMOIRS containing the Message of Fatima brought by Our Blessed Mother to the world, may have performed a sensational cure of a child four years old at the moment of the miracle at Salta, Argentina.

Rosario André was hospitalized for ten days with hemolytic-uremic syndrome, having a very serious infection that needed desperately antibiotics but at the same time could not receive them due to renal failure caused by her rare sickness, that affects blood, the central nervous system and the kidneys. She was close to die when her mother, Alexandra Maria took the book by Sister Lucia, MEMOIRS, and placed it in her child’s breast, and embracing her, both prayed to Sister Lucia to cure little Rosario.

Immediately, the symptoms of fever, diarrhea and vomiting disappeared. Next day, the lab exams showed no infection as the bacteria was killed without antibiotics. The miraculous cure happened on the same day of Sister Lucia’s death! Rosario was healthy again! And she has remained healthy afterwards. Medical evidence was forwarded to Church authorities.

Pontifical Council for the Laity Encourages FFA

After working years in the Fatima Apostolate since the early 1970’s, especially for youth, the Pontifical Council for the Laity encouraged Father Fox to continue his Fatima Apostolate independently. The Fatima Family Apostolate (FFA) was then formed by Father Robert J. Fox in early 1985 at this encouragement and was soon, as we shall see, endorsed by the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for the Family. Edouard Cardinal Gagnon, Prefect of the Vatican Council for the Family, who had long been following Fr. Fox’s work. He later wrote the preface for the first Charter of the Fatima Family Apostolate. The FFA began at Mid-America’s Fatima Family Shrine in Alexandria, South Dakota where Father Fox was pastor and director until his retirement on July 1, 2003.

Later, in 1989, Cardinal Gagnon came to the national Fatima Family Marian Congress at the Apostolate’s Shrine and publicly endorsed this new movement in the Church. It grew rapidly. Bishop Amaral of Leiria-Fatima, who had known Fr. Fox for years invited him to go to Germany with him in 1985 to speak to “Friends of Fatima” at the national Congress in Germany.

Two years later when Bishop Amaral came to America for the FFA Congress, the first time an administrating Bishop of Fatima came to America, he said, “I endorse the Fatima Family Apostolate because Fr. Fox works in harmony with the Vatican.”

The FFA is also officially organized in Poland and has been spreading to other countries in recent years. Its formation in Poland resulted from the 1992 I Encontro Internacional Sobre A Pastoral De Fatima, (First International Pastoral Symposium on Fatima) sponsored by the Bishop of Fatima and the Vatican’s Council for the Laity to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Fatima apparitions. Leaders of all Church recognized Fatima Apostolates in the world were invited to address the international delegates at the Paul VI Pastoral Center at Fatima. Fr. Fox was asked to address the International Symposium on behalf of the United States of America. As a result, Fr. Miroslaw Drozdek, of Poland’s Fatima Shrine, associated with Pope John Paul II, heard Fr. Fox’s presentation and invited him to Poland on two occasions for the formation of the FFA in Poland. Fr. Drozdek reports to the Holy Father at the Vatican at least two times a years and keeps His Holiness informed of the Fatima Family Apostolate.

Recently, John C. Preiss Director of the FFA contacted and sent the charter of the Fatima Family Apostolate to the Pontifical Council of the Laity and Family and was encourged to continue this apostolate started by Father Robert J. Fox.

Announcing the Marian Congress in honor of Our Lady of Fatima on the 25th Anniversary of the founding of the Mid-America Fatima Shrine by Fr. Robert J. Fox. The Congress will be held June 8-10, 2012 at the Shrine on the grounds of St. Mary of Mercy Parish in Alexandria, South Dakota. The Theme is ?Our Lady of Fatima, Mother of the Family, and the Legacy of Fr. Robert Fox.?

Fatima Candlelight Procession A Succes

The Fatima candlelight procession at the Fatima Family Apostolate on October 13th was a huge success. We had approximately 140 people in attendance and this included the Knights of the Holy Eucharist, Monsignor Mangan, Our Spiritual Director also some of the Friars from EWTN and Father Wade Menezes from the Fathers of Mercy. Our Lady of Fatima, Pray for us!

The Fatima Family Apostolate will be celebrating their 25th anniversary on October 13, 2011 at 5:30 P.M. at the headquarters in Hanceville, AL. They will also have a candlelight procession,Fatima Hymns and meditated Rosary led by Monsignor Charles Mangan of the diocese of Souix Falls, South Dakota.
